Hello! Please allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Hank Volk and we are the Volk Family from Brookville Indiana. We are the proprietors of a family owned and operated business called The Henry J. Banjo Shop. I started the Henry J. Banjo Shop in 1986 and give full credit to Christ, who has given me this talent and ability. My parents gave me a banjo for Christmas one year when I was 16 years old. That's all she wrote folks! When I went to college at Indiana State University I had no choice but to skip classes to play it in my dorm room all day. Maybe I should have left the banjer at home. I have no regrets though. I eventually quit college and became an apprentice for master luthier Ernie Wells in Connersville, IN. Approx. 3 years later I opened my own shop.
